Mouser stocking TI’s humidity and temperature sensor HDC2080

August 16, 2018 Mouser Electronics, Inc. announced they were stocking the highly accurate, low-power digital HDC2080 humidity and temperature sensor from TI (Texas Instruments). Mouser as the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor, is known of having the most selections of semiconductors and electronic components. This time, Mouser introduces HDC2080 with high expectations of its wide applications in IoT (Internet of Things) and environment-monitoring.

HDC2080 is expected to find wide applications in IoT and environment-monitoring

The TI HDC2080 humidity ad temperature digital sensor is a device based on capacitive sensing and uses an integrated heating element to dissipate moisture and condensation. The HDC2080 is a low-power design allowing the host microcontroller to enter deep sleep mode while initiate measurements without the command from the MCU, which offers efficient performance in applications with power-budget restrictions. The sensor is designed for battery-operated systems and supports a supply voltage range from 1.62V to 3.6V.

The HDC2080 offers high performance with a typical humidity accuracy of +/- 2% and a typical temperature accuracy of +/- 0.2 degree C. The operating temperature range of the sensor is from -40 to 85C, which enables the sensor to safely operate in applications such as home appliances, smart home devices, smart thermostats HVAC systems and inkjet printers.
